Trees Coming to Lake Mansfield!

The next steps for improvements at Lake Mansfield will include a number of plantings aimed at strengthening the habitat with native trees, shrubs, and perennials. The town of Great Barrington's Lake Mansfield Improvement Task Force continues to meet to support the Town's efforts as contractors move into their final tasks at Lake Manfeild.

Bobolink Signs installed at the McAllister Wildlife Refuge by GBLC volunteers!
Sept 9, 2004 - An industrious team of GBLC volunteers installed 3 Bobolink Signs at the McAllister Wildlife Refuge. Thanks to the design work of Ben Barrett, double locust posts were used to support these information signs located at key positions for observing Bobolinks when they are nesting (May - August).

Lake Mansfield - A place where kids discover the natural world!
Not everyone is comfortable with snakes, toads and turtles. But given a chance for a closer look, all of us can be amazed at the adaptivity and complex life of these amazing creatures. On Thursday July 25th 2024 30 kids and their big folks met Tom Tyning's Scaled, Tailed and Bulging Eye Friends. This event was a collaborative event with CHP!
