OCT 4th 2026 - Volunteers and Walkers were treated to a beautiful day for the 2nd Annual Walk for Conservation. Crisp fall temperatures and sunshine provided the perfect conditions for the walking champions who met up to walk in support of GBLC's trail and conservation efforts. New friendships were formed as champion walkers enjoyed learning about the many volunteer efforts to be seen along the 5 Mile Lake Mansfield Loop. The 2 mile walk featured the Riverfront trail, River Walk and a fun stroll through downtown. For kids and families enjoying the 1 Mile Walk there was a fun new Riverfront Trail Scavenger Hunt. Hungry walkers enjoyed a feast of bagels, apples, rice cakes, muffins and pizza!
An enormous shout out goes to the 28 business sponsors who supported this annual GBLC Fundraiser, together we were able to raise over $12,000!
These funds are essential, providing GBLC the support needed to maintain River Walk, the Riverfront Trail, trails and Lake Mansfield and the Pfeiffer Arboretum. This support also fuels our ambitious native habitat restoration projects in all of these trail areas.
