2020 A.T. Gathering: A Complete Success!

It Takes a Mountain of Volunteers to Keep the Appalachian Trail in Great Shape!

On February 1st, 2020 the Massachusetts Appalachian Trail Management Committee hosted the 18th Annual Appalachian Trail Volunteer Gathering at Taconic High School. 85 people were in attendance, with many familiar faces and with a few new additions.

The break out sessions were filled with ideas and the transferring of information for natural resource and corridor monitors, Upper Goose Pond and Overnight site Caretakers, as well as trail communities. These sessions gave volunteers the opportunity to explore new options of staying involved and veteran volunteers to gain valuable information about their positions.

You can read all about what was accomplished on the Appalachian Trail in 2019 as well as planned future projects in this issue of AMC Berkshire Chapter’s newsletter.
