Our 12th Annual Run for the Hills 5k/10k Race was a huge success!
90 runners and walkers of all ages and abilities enjoyed the fall beauty of an outstanding Berkshire day Participant, from our youngest (6 years old) runner to our eldest (77 years old), were beaming with joy throughout the event.
Over 50 community volunteers participated in organizing and running this big event. They tracked down equipment, reached out for sponsors, organized T-shirts and awards, put out lawn signs, baked, set up the course, registered participants, worked on the road safety crew and that put everything away! It was especially exciting to have Simon’s Rock Students as volunteers and race participants. They brought a wonderful energy to our event and seemed to have a great time being a part of the day.
This event is a collaborative effort. We are grateful to the town for its support and are thrilled and honored that twenty-eight business sponsors made this community event and Land Conversancy fundraiser possible. The funds raised from Run for the Hills will go back into the Great Barrington community through our work to preserve our beautiful natural areas and farmland and maintain numerous trails and natural habitats.
