An amazing Team of Big Y volunteers from Great Barrington and Lee made a huge difference at River Walk! We grouped up to take on the work at hand. Some grabbed pitch forks and loaded wheelbarrow of organic material. The work wasn't easy, but a joyful group made light of the task! At the same time, others pitched in to install the new sections of split rail fence. Then it was time to see who was up for the tough digging! Folks took turns, sharing the work, helping each other, until all posts were installed. Great Job! A lot of hard work resulted in a perfected installed split rail fenced! And still there was more to do! Spring raking is needed to make the River Walk fresh for spring visitors. Grassy areas benefit from having sticks cleaned up. Then leaf and stick piles needed to be gathered and stowed. It was great to see folks enjoying their time together. Building community is also a way to build friendships! EVERYONE deserved a slice of pizza -thank you Big Y Volunteers! "I am so grateful for the joyful energy the Big Y volunteers brought to River Walk!" ~ Christine Ward Director
