Dan organized this volunteer project to help meet the requirements to becom and Eagle Scout Dan's crew harvested the materials at April Hill and transported them to River Walk, existing posts were used to construct the new wattle fence Saplings are woven together in courses to create a sturdy structure. Aspen, cherry and sumac saplings were used and as new courses were added, saplings were stomped down to provide a strong, tight fitting structure. Lots of muscle was employed to fit in the final fence material. To complete this project the scouts contribued 46 volunteer work hours to River Walk and accomplished a much needed improvement! The wattle fence delineates an access path, holds soil to prevent erosion, and adds to the overall aethetic of River Walk.
